About
Hey,
So about me…..
The short version:
I’m a freelance web developer, passionate about Free Software and a lifelong Blade.
The longer short version:
I moved down to London in January 2008 where I worked for 6 months with a good team at pH working on a web based marketing tool for businesses (banks). I was plucked away from there by NTT Europe Online where I got to play with distributed systems, virtualisation and other cool tech from the comfort of my own home. Alas I craved the excitement of freelance work quit my job as a birthday present to myself. Unfortunately the freelance bit didn’t last and I was lured into full-time employment with More Associates which leads me where I am today.
At More I’m the lead developer and general head geek. We do cool shit with a great team, get to play with the latest tech and are hopefully helping to save the world. Unfortunately I’m still under an NDA so can’t talk about it (yet).
Before I did my Dick Whittington, I’d been up in Leeds which was my home for 8 years through university, early freelance years and then starting and running my own company with some friends and my old man. At Qustom we wrote some awesome software for Leeds University Union’s 30,000 members, had a suite of software for risk management and banged out the occasional Drupal website.
I’m active in the London Python community (although less so of late) and organise the occasional pub meets (#pyssup) with @pepperbox.
